first off, thanks for the tip about not taking the discs out until they are completely ejected...apparently a few discs are getting pinholes in em, why I dont know.

Anyway, my window was smashed out and my player was taken, (with TA inside, which DaveH on the mp.com forum replaced for free for me) Whoever took em wasn't a big metal fan, they opened my cd case, looked at it and decided not to take anything. Anthrax and Spocks Beard were the 1st 2 cd's in there.

I will be at both of the Chicago shows and the Milwaukee show, even if DT
does schedule a Minnesota date. I've thought about seeing multiple dates on
a DT tour before, but never had the time or money necessary to do so. Since
I do this time around, I'm gonna go for it.
If nothing else, there is always the fact that Mike says the 2nd show in
Chicago is gonna be "special". There's several people on the Mike Portnoy
Message Forum (including me) trying to get some sort of midwest party or
get-together going for the Chicago show too. Hope to see a few of you
    there!

    Sarah

    Greetings!

Does anyone know where (and if) I can obtain the sheet music for any piano
heavy DT songs? While guitar has been my main musical outlet, I'm about to
start with piano lessons and of course would love to be able to play some
DT, especially the solo piano version of YtseJam I've heard played over the
PA before shows, or "Wait For Sleep".

    Thanks in advance!

You MN-area folks probably already know, but a Minneapolis date was
added yesterday. At least you're lucky.

For the unlucky, like me in Atlanta, we have to Take Steps to see DT on
this tour. So, I've gotten tickets to the Chicago shows and I'll have
    to start laying plans. :)

Believe it or not, 6DoIT has just been favourably reviewed in Kerrang! magazine here in the UK. They gave it four out of five and described it as "a triumphant return by a truly great band". Cool.

Does anyone know if the tickets for the Chicago show are for reserved seating or for general admission? I'm coming from Pittsburgh and wondered if I will need to be standing in line all day or if I'll have a seat when I show up at 6:30. It could make a difference whether I fly or drive. If anybody knows, let me know. I'd appreciate it.

The last time I saw DT at the Vic, and every other concert I've been to at the Vic has been general admission. The Vic has a website that is linked to off of Ticket Master. You might find something definitive there.

Gathering together my remaining brain cells and my thoughts, I'm going to try this again.

    >So how much is everyone paying for the tickets of the >first leg of the US tour?

The prices are actually pretty decent... I got the cheaper tickets for NYC, but after Ticketbastard got through with them it almost doubled the price I paid! Is it just me, or are those "handling" and "service" charges getting more outrageous every day?

Of course, I should not say too much since I've used them recently to buy tickets to a hockey game, DT, and Sevendust (on the 29th in NYC, WOO!), and it would make me seem either hypocritical or even more retarded.

Many thanks to everyone who's weighed in with advice on car disc changers. It looks like autotoys is the place to go. Maybe I'll kill some more time later on today looking through the site (hey, who needs to work, anyway?).

    >The only disadvantage of the 10-disc changer in the >trunk is thatit's not quite as easy to change CDs.

That's not really a big deal. Between ten CDs, I'm sure to find something that I want... the only other option would be to take my entire CD collection with me everywhere, which I do NOT want to do (note: chance of theft). I might forget what CDs I have in there, though. One exceptional situation might be road trips, but I haven't done too many of those lately. :(

    >As others have said, keep an eye out for a local shop >with a good price that will give free installation if >you buy it there.

If I get the chance, I sure will. I just don't get out much to those local shops :) In fact, to illustrate this, let me tell you I am going to have to recruit someone in my family to take my car in for an oil change, since I am never around my car when the shops are open, except Saturdays, when I sleep late and forget. For that and this shop advice for car stereos/CD players I am relying on advice from other people who actually get around.

Do what I've just done: buy a portable MP3 player. I just got a Creative Digital Jukebox with a 6GB disc - now that the new 20GB model is out, the 6GB one is so much cheaper. This'll give you room to carry plenty of albums' worth of material around with you. Just connect the output of your MP3 player into your car stereo. No risk of CDs being stolen, and you can even take it on the bus/train/plane or to work/school/family reunions, etc.
