Even I have my limits and #27.99 [$US40, 45Euros] for 6DOIT @ HMV and Virgin
Megastores is so out of order, there is no way I'm buying this CD in the UK.
I'm gonna wait till its out in the US and have it shipped over. [ it may cost
me more, but East West Uk aren't gettin my money]. Amazon France have it for
    20 Euros.

What the fuck does Elektra/East West think its doing? There's no justification
for the new disk being that price (even as a double). It smacks of the
bastards trying to recoup the losses that they've no doubt incurred as a
result of the fucked up releases of the Live CD and DVD.

It did have a virus. Don't open it. Norton AntiVirus caught it.

Paul W Cashman, well, I can't really agree with your opinion on the Ticketmaster indignity. Suffice to say, I don't attend many shows for the various and unjustified price and surcharge inflation via Ticketmaster and their monopoly on the system. Unfortunately, in addition to wounding the consumer, their
practices also wound the bands themselves, who often make a large percentage of profits from live shows, than actual studio recordings. Last I checked, they were in NO danger of bankruptcy proceedings (Hey Enron!), nor are they exactly hurting for profits.

Eric George, dude, howz it going, mon? I do concur, 'Still Remains' is an epic tune. And my second favorite on the CD! Glad you enjoy my stuff, man, be sure to email me privately at some point, so I can post that 'expedited' review you got in the recesses of your mind, somehow, somewhere (lol). New CD,
hopefully this fall... And dammit, I hate when live pulls that obtrusive 'get in the way' thang, myself.

Dammit#2, CDNOW sends the CD to the wrong address (my old address, thankfully my parents will be there to receive the ite, without worry of their cracking it open for a preview, though I would enjoy hearing about that!), and NOW i must wait, however patiently, for the CD(s) to arrive here, whilest reading
here and there about the direction, sound and compositions on the CD. I shall remove my eyes temporarilly, for I only see in infrared...

And no, no email from any 'Stefano', Stephanie, or Stefan. ???

Do you know of any samples of their music online? Amazon only
has a 30 second snippet that is mostly ambient sounds (probably an
introductory section of a song) that doesn't give any idea of what
they're like. Also, the one web page I found for Green Carnation is
    pretty useless.

According to TicketMaster.com, Dream Theatre is playing the 9:30 Club the same night as Dream Theater. An interesting choice of opening act, I must say... (Usually, it's one or the other, not both. Go figure.)

Okay maybe the website is a convenience but here is how my ticket purchase went. I live in Louisville, KY and will happen to be in LA the week of their show there so I decided to get tickets from TicketBastard.

I searched for best seats(tickets ran $26 - $36 I believe) and the best were $31.50. So I bought two.

    $31.50 * 2 = $63

The total after TicketBastard = $90!

Now tell me $30 in charges is justified on TWO tickets. But what were my options? Pay the $30 or not go to the show. Monopoly if I ever saw one.

This is not acceptable, not for any band. Is any member of the band an advocate of low ticket prices? Because this is just ridiculous. I miss the good 'ole days when Pearl Jam fought those bastards to keep those fees off their tickets.

Well, I'm sorry to say that this is the first time since getting into DT back in 93 that I have not gone and bought a release in its first day.

#24.99 in Tower and #27.99 in Virgin and HMV is taking the piss - big time!

So I downloaded the whole album on Sunday and will order it from www.thegroovemachine1.co.uk next week when they will be offering it for #17 including delivery, which is about the price the album should be in the shops.

It is so obvious that someone here is going to be raking in the money, and you can be sure its not the boys in the band.

I kind of feel a little guilty for downloading the album, but it's the only way to hear the songs before seeing them on Saturday without being totally ripped off, and I will definitely be ordering an original next week!

BTW - I'm blown away by the new material ;)))

Hope to see some of you on Saturday at the Apollo.

    Cheers

    Doug

    Hey everyone,

How about when you order tickets for a show via the website and choose the "Leave Tickets at Will Call." They still charge you the $3.00 "handling fee" that you would pay if you got the tickets mailed to you.

So, lets see, it costs Ticketmaster $3 to print up tickets and put a paper clip around the tickets and put them in the proper slot at will call? Give me a break.

I'm going to see the Greatest Band in the World, Tenacious D, tonight at Roseland. Face value for two tickets was $50.40. After the "convenience charge" (they really should change that name) and "handling charge", the bill came out to be $65.50. And the damn tickets are at will call!

But if Ticketbastard is your only option, there's nothing you can do about it. :(

    Take care, Adam Perkowsky

Has anyone else been having problems with the DT International Fan Club?? I sent them money over 3 months ago and have been constantly sending e-mails afterwards. They said that my Christmas CD and fanzine would be sent out at Christmas, but I haven't got anything. Then they started ignoring me and I sent Mike P. an e-mail, but I don't know if he got in contact with them. It's amazing that you send them $25 and you can't even get decent correspondence, not to mention my Christmas CD!!!! What a joke. -Dave
