Yea, I did that the LAST time. I'd have no problem with doing this if,
in fact, the CD cannot be obtained through any sort of US
    distribution. I suggested two US-based distros/labels -- we'll see
    what happens.

You're a cold, heartless, mean bastard.

--Which is why we like you. :)

Yesterday, for the first time in weeks, there wasn't a front-page
article in the Atlanta paper about the shocking events up in N. Ga. to
which you refer. At last count, they were over 350 bodies...and
counting. And the oddest thing is, the crematorium -isn't- broken.
They were just.....storing the bodies.....for no readily apparent
    reason. (!)

(You know it's gotta be pretty bad when the locals ask for Federal
emergency disaster aid to clean up the bodies from a crematorium.)

Chicago-bound in a few hours! I'll be at the Days Inn Linkin Park, on
Diversey, along with several other fans from out-of-town. It's gonna
    be fun!

Hi there, feeling compelled to address some matters. Al, glad to see you coming out of lurk mode. With the recent talk of Bafu and Korgx3 I was wondering when somebody would mention the times when you posted more often.

    >although 'ir' is a legitimate prefix, 'regard' a meaningful root, and >'less' is a commonly-used suffix, 'irregardless' is not a word ir- is a legitimate suffix, but it's not the only one to express what you are trying to say. Among ir-, there is im-, in-, re- and of course dis- which I'd say (though not a native speaker) comes closest, since disregard is a word as opposed to irregard. Consequently, disregardable should be the word if you must use a word like this. Didn't we have a grammar nazi for this (never thought I (German) would ask for a nazi).

Am still trying to find time to post review of 6doit, just this much, I dig disc 2, and am wondering if one always likes the album best that introduced oneself to the music??

    sab

Hello, everyone. Just signed up with this list a few weeks ago. I've listened to DT from the first album on. I just got my copy of "SDoIT" a few days ago and have been playing the disc a lot. The more I listen to it, the more I'm convinced that it's a masterpiece. Just incredible. I have the utmost respect for them.

Look forward to posting more and reading what all of you have to say.

    ***SPOILER***

This was the exact setlist from LA last week. I just got home (KY) and haven't read though my email yet so if someone already posted, sorry. James held the microphone while Mike sang the first 3 or 4 lines of one of the songs, but I can't remember which(TTT maybe?) The show kicked ass. The line was around the building an hour before the show! There were people trying to buy tickets off people in line. Sold out! Nice work guys.

Yes we have arranged this again. This time Mark Metzger is taking the orders for the USA. You will be able to order on our homepage and you can even choose if you want the CD's sent to you directly (costs more for shipment) or together with others in one big parcel. You will get all the necessary information when you order.

    Greetings

    ***oh, I hate to SPOL***

    *** 'LO, a SPOILER ***

***this is sufficient warning; don't whine***

Well, though I am not going to drop the whole setlist (mostly because I didn't feel I was going to involve myself to the point of writing it down at the show,) there weren't a whole lot of surprises at the show, though it was amazing.

I would've liked to have heard LiTS, Burning My Soul w/Hell's Kitchen and Another Hand/The Killing Hand, and didn't, the show was incredible. 6DoIT in it's entirety almost filled my boxer-breifs, Portnoy was entertaining, having dropped a few sticks while tossing them through the sky, and resulting in taking handfuls of sticks and whipping them into the air. The mighty cock-gong mallet during the Home intro was a real piece of work.

Oh, and they played "Space Dye Vest."

I am kidding, of course...but I'll bet half of you just had a heart attack.

The hangman jerseys are amazing...they sum it all up. I would have paid more than forty dollars for that. And having whiskey availiable at the Orpheum was a nice touch--though DT had nothing to do with that. But, like a few people said, it's nice that they made James a little corner of toys so he has something do instead of getting in the band's way while they're engaging in the better parts of the music. Though I'll hafta say I feel bad for the guy--his voice definitely could NOT handle the high notes in "Learning to Live" and "Surrounded"...he stormed off the stage when his singing parts were over in those songs.

Tremendous show, everybody in tip-top shape, though I could hardly hear Myung, per the usual, and while the other band members were joking around on stage and sticking their faces in each others', it seemed nobody even looked at him.

    and always lurking,

Sorry, Trevor, but you are incorrect. 'Irregardless' is in fact, a word. Defined by the New American Webster Handy College Dictionary, New 3rd Edition (as opposed to the 25th edition of the Archiac Ukranian Handheld Electronic Thesaurus, I think) as such: adj. (erroneous) regardless. It may be considered originally improper verbiage, but it's actually a word in the dictionary, however, I can see how some would prefer, properly, of course, substituting the correct adjective: 'regardless' so I shall inverse my original statement (you quoted) and change words, forever and hereafter! Grammatically, it's nonetheless frowned upon, but hey, consider it literary slang, eh?

Oh yeah, Thanks for the heads up, on the band Mine. I am currently preparing myself to head off into the wilds of cyberspace to do just that.

Sure, you can quote me. Just make sure to leave out the subliminal revolutionary rhetoric I fiendishly hid in the code of the phrase. I don't need the NSA or Johnny Ashcroft and his thugs breathing down my back, I think you understand. That's just it, though: The word "erroneous" means that it's an unnecessary word, therefore, it's only in there because it's used colloquially, just as "d'oh" is. Just as the spelling of the word "judgment" was misspelled enough (people kept spelling it "judgement") that it ended up getting put in the dictionary as a correct spelling, irregardless is only there to cover all bases. The fact that it's an erroneous word means that it shouldn't be used at all, anyway.

    Hi, folks:

For those of you who are interested, the new remaster of "When Dreams and Day Unite" is now in stock. I got a whole caseload of them this week. Here's the info you'll find listed on my One Way page <http://www.artist-shop.com/oneway>

Dream Theater/When Dream and Day Unite One Way Records is proud to announce its limited edition special package of one of the best selling titles of the label's history. When Dream and Day Unite is recognized as the official debut release for Dream Theater and will be available in a limited edition package - a thick cardboard glossy digipak and picture CD - and remastered using 32-bit technology! By remastering this release, Dream Theater fans will finally get to hear this CD the way it's never been heard before, and the limited edition packaging is individually numbered in gold foil for collectability. Pressing for this limited edition is strictly limited to 5,000 copies. Once the limited edition is gone, the packaging will go back to the standard jewel case.

The copy above I got directly from One Way. However, there is one important change. While they did initially plan to limit it to 5,000 copies, apparently the pre-orders from the retailers was so heavy, they decided to change that to 10,000 copies!!!

And even having done that, when I spoke to my rep a couple weeks ago, he actually told me that at that time, still two weeks prior to release, all 10,000 copies were already spoken for!!! Good thing I ordered early. LOL!
