Yep, it's a great CD! Definitely in my Top 20, and it's lived in slot 3
of my 100-cd changer since I bought the changer. I can't think of a
"bad" cd from him, though, either solo or "Steve Morse Band." The
California Screamin' CD is excellent, too!

llia, if anyone flames you for that, there's an underground group on the list here that will catch them going to the mall or grocery store and beat them silly with a wet noodle in the parking lot. So no worries ok ! We got your back !

Well, to be honest, the liner notes were originally placed right under the CD in the Digipack. But, the French Record company just forgot to put them there, so they had to add that extra card with the liner notes and on the other side with that sentence under the UR-Logo. That sentece was meant to be on the poster too... oh well... one can't have it all, I guess... :)

    Greetings

Hi! To the person who asked about Gordian Knot, I personally like them a lot. Great fusiony stuff. Also, there's a new one coming out soon, and it seems like it's going to be amazing, even better than the first. I downloaded a trailer from The Laser's Edge (lasercd.com) and it kicks ass. The lineup has changed a bit, with the Seans in there as always, and guys like Bill Bruford, Jim Matheos and other musicians who seem to be awesome.

Talking about great music, I'd like to give my Steve Morse recommendations. I own almost all of his SMB albums (from Southern Steel on) and the 3 latest Dregs albums. The common denominator in these albums is that they all have my boy Dave LaRue on bass, who fits with Steve Morse like rice and beans. All of the albums included in this selection (Southern Steel, Coast to Coast, Structural Damage, Stressfest, Major Impacts, Split Decision, Bring 'em Back Alive, Full Circle, and California Screamin') are great starting points, except maybe Major Impacts, which is good but IMO does not compare with his other stuff. You can't go wrong with any of the albums on that list. The interplay between guitar and bass in the SMB albums is just amazing. Dave LaRue plays some of the tastiest bass around. Both his bass lines and his solos are incredible. For those of you who don't recognize his name, he was the bassist for John Petrucci on the G3 tour. The new SMB album, Split Decision, is awesome. The Dixie Dregs have more instruments (guitar, bass, drums, violin and keyboards), and their music is amazing. The SMB is rockier, whereas the Dregs add a lot more stuff in there (they're definitely a prog band). If you still feel like you need a recommendation for a starting point, I'd say get Bring 'em Back Alive first. That's one of the most amazing live albums I've heard.

I also recently got a few other albums that I'd like to comment on briefly. I got Bela Fleck and the Flecktones' Three Flew over the Cuckoos Nest, and I have to say that it's truly amazing. These guys never disappoint. Bela Fleck and Victor Wooten are two of my favorite musicians, and they are the best there are at their respective instruments (banjo and bass). Their interplay is as good (or, if possible, even better) as Steve Morse and Dave LaRue's. I also got Megadeth's Rude Awakening, and it's a great live album. Very good performance and excellent song selection. I also got Blind Guardian's A Night at the Opera, and it's also amazing. These guys are probably the best power metal band around.

Alrigt, enough for now. I hope that was helpful for some of you. Bye!

    Alexis
