I Went to see it yesterday, in a movie theater in Geneva. Even though I had
to sit through the Ep. I For the tenth billion time (I cactually fel asleep!
A first!), I was very excited about Ep. II. And I wasn't disapointed, not at
all, no sir!! Yes, it has its godd and bad, but which film hasn't?? Anyway,
The whole last hour left me in awe. I'm not gonna spoil it for the one yho
haven't seen it yet, but that's what I call an epix battle! The way I
depicted Jedi was exactly the same. They are powerful, yes, but not
invulnerable! And that's what I find great about it. It has also some
mixture of war-like movies and other detective movie, and a strong sense of
Blade Runner in the beginning (for a while, I was expecting to see Harrison
Ford just making a cameo appearance).

It's a very dark movie, along the line of "Empire Strikes Back"...

Love it, will see it again, many time, for sure!

    Greetings ye 'jamanoids...

David L. remarked, regarding the new Star Wars:
    >But I will go to see this film
    >again next week and I can't wait for the DVD. In about 2 1/2 years. :-(

Lucasfilm's Rick McCallum and Jim Ward have confirmed that the DVD will be
out by the end of this year. Reports have it streeting in October or early
November. Lucasfilm has been working on the disc for over a year. So we
don't have to wait so long for it this time. :)

I too was at one of the midnight showings (one of FOUR they were having at
that particular theater, all of them packed; ours was sold out) and I loved
it. Then again, somebody whose license plate says "D MAUL" isn't exactly
the most objective judge.....but I'd hazard a guess that most people are
going to be pretty damn happy with this film. :)

    cheers,
    Phil

I saw Star Wars II on Wednesday night (technically Thursday morning
but you know what I mean). I was immensely relieved that it was a
whole lot better than Episode I.

There were still many things that annoyed me, though.

STOP READING HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT ME TO SPOIL IT FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!

.. but start reading here if you don't mind. ;-)

Jango Fett was played by a reject from an Antipodean soap opera. All
the stormtroopers had ridiculous Australian accents (I kept expecting
them to stop killing for a moment and sit back for a stubbie and to
    admire the sheilas).

Giving Boba Fett a human face (another bloody annoying kid) was a big
mistake; it completely destroyed all the intrigue and mystery
surrounding one of the coolest characters ever.

And all those grotesque "love" scenes with Amidala and Skywalker
merrily frolicking in meadows - PLEASE! Vomit City...

The effects were cool, though, apart from Yoda. He just looks too
artificial; in the original trilogy, the advantage of having a puppet
is that it actually looks like he's really there in the scene, instead
of having been pasted in by a computer artist.

I'm going to see it again on Tuesday in case it grows on me. :-)

    >Which degree?<

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that I coulldn't really answer 2 of the questions, but the result seemed fairly accurate. I don't plan to change my goals, though. :)

But maybe I can learn to go through it alone. That is something that I do NOT want to do though. As of now, I cannot really accept the prospect of that.

And I also forgot to mention that you guys should check out Star One. If any of you are on the Symphony X list, you'll know that it's realy being talked about there. I was able to download a song (from the bonus disc in the limited edition that comes out next week in the US) called Spaced Out and I have been listening to it a LOT.

It's done by Arjen Anthony Lucassen (Ayreon) and focuses on the metal side (of Arjen's writing style) and has several singers, each of them singing different parts of the songs in a way that works really well (including Russel Allen), and part of the song I got has a sort of KMFDM vibe to it.

I trust you've all heard the newest by Vanden Plas and Superior? Good, then I won't have to go into it. :)
