your friend got it right. she's a she! I've seen them in concert, and yes,
it is really weird with a female blackmetal screamer.

Nektar are a '70s Genesis/Pink Floyd style band that I never really got into. Museo Rosenbach was a cool '70s prog band from Italy that as some comparisons to Metamorfosi. I like their "Zarathustra" CD quite a bit, but it's not for everyone. The vocals are in Italian and the music and vocals are very bombastic and over the top. The music is ELP influenced, with a lot of synth and organ. For me the vocals are what makes the CD -- the singer has a powerful voice that he uses to belt out the lyrics in an operatic style.

A very cool article! :-) I was surprised to see that I knew one of the guys interviewed, Mike Thaxton, back from the days of the original ProgFest in LA. It's good to see that he's still involved in the prog scene.
