    Hey everyone,

luckly, I'm able to keep my computer on 24x7, because I also run a web
server off my machine for a number of sites. By this weekend, I hope to
have a hub set up, and I'll post a message to the Jam letting everyone know
    about it.

Below are some of the policies I think I am going to implement, but they're
open to discussion. Let me know what you guys think.

    1. Registered Users Only - you'd have to send me a username inorder to get
access to the hub. I don't think this is unreasonable, and it helps
"monitoring" of "bad" leechers. I'll set up a quick and dirty web page with
    added instructions, etc.

    2. No minimum to connect - this allows users to come in and get stuff, and
remain present to distribute the load. I know I'm not going to have very
many upload slots, because I want to make sure I don't kill my webserver.
Eventually, I'll find a happy medium.

I'll gather whatever I can to put up initially, and we'll see where it goes
from there. When I get it set up I'll post an email address to allow people
to be registered with the hub.

Keep a lookout for the Jam's this weekend.

    1. I think registration and accountability are a good thing, but I don't
want another username/password combo to remember, and I don't want to
give you an existing username/password combo I use now. The other DC
hub I'm on has a hub password. It's the same for everyone. They change
it every few months. It can be baked into the install, and it can be
put into the Registry, so it's only added or changed once. You don't
have to type it in every time. I vote we do it that way.

    2. I would imagine that content other than DT bootlegs and the like are
going to show up on the hub. Everyone will have something to share. I
say we put a minimum in place. Something small, like 200 Meg, but
something, as a show of good faith. Leaches are going to be a problem.
    Something proactive might not hurt.

I just finished listening to the new Flower Kings double disc. Good CD! I think they haven't been able to top Garden Of Dreams or Stardust in the double disc department, but still a good effort. I only listened once, so I have to give it another whirl before I can conclude if its better than Rainmaker or Space Revolver. The main thing I've noticed is that they've changed slightly from being extremely 70's proggy to being very jazzy. This isn't much of a complaint, but I like their hippy jamness from their previous albums. Maybe it's cuz of their jazz bassist? He is NUTS by the way...
One thing is for sure... they sure like their epics (31 mins, 14 mins, 8 mins, 24 mins), and they sure love to fill up their CDs! Disc 1 is over 70 mins and Disc 2 is almost 70 mins.
Anyone else hear it? What did you guys think?
