What's up ye 'jammers, it's woot. While suffering from the fall of the
'jam from its mighty perch atop the heap of cool DT organizations to
belong to is understandable, I reckon we should at least keep the
occasional discussion going. With that in mind, a few musical thoughts,
mostly NDTC. The goal here is get people to talk about other bands that
they're into, since DT news is slow right now. Who isn't always looking
for new stuff to download anyway?

I've recently discovered John Mayer. Any other JM fans on here? I hate
radio music as much as anybody, but download "Man on the Side" and
"Neon" (especially the jazzed out 5.18.00 version if you like your tunes
with noodles) off your favorite file swapping service (I prefer Kazaa
lite) and consider how many CDs he's sold, and I'd say the future of
popular music could be taking a turn for the better. His songs have also
been good for my guitar playing ability. I've got 7 of his songs to
performance level and while not super speedy, he uses some freakishly
cool chords. His lyrics are generally excellent as far as love
songs/frustrated ex-boyfriend songs/I'm lost and lonely type songs go.

Storyhill is another huge one. I turned Korgx3 on to these guys back
when we used to hang out. <sniff> Very cool down-home songs about
fishing and rivers and driving and whatever else it is that people do in
Montana. You might need to go to mp3.com or fan pages to find their stuff.

That's a good start for now. Throw up some recommendations from your
    favorite bands other than DT.

In other news, SFAM has been in my car for the last 2 months straight.
    It verily "rokz nadz"

    woot

I decided to post this to you guys too because, as Craig noted, there isn't
much to talk about these days it seems!
"On a note like this, I figured I would ask everyone's opinion to see if
    they
agree that 2002 has been a GREAT year for new releases. MANY great prog
artists released fabulous albums, among a few:
    Opeth- Deliverance
    Echolyn- Mei
    Planet X- moonbabies
    DT- 6DoIT
    PT- In Absentia
RPWL- Trying To Kiss The Sun
    Symphony X- The Odyssey
    Flower Kings- Unfold The Future
    Kaipa- Notes from The Past
    Spock's Beard- Snow
    Vanden Plas - Beyond Daylight
Pain of Salvation - Remedy Lane

It's only November even! I can't wait to hear what '03 brings =)
What are your fave albums of '02?"
That should get the ball rolling...
