In a mind-blowing e-mail sent on the extremely historic date of 10/26/02
    4:17 PM, PWorrall@netscape.net thusly spaketh:

    > I know this has been asked before but I'll ask it again. Does anyone know
    > where I could download this (like I was able to with the Barcelona MOP show)?

I'm guessing there's recording's of the shows, but I think the tapers are
holding on to them a little longer than they did with the MoP
recordings...perhaps to remaster them? There is an MP3 up on the French DT
Fan Club website of DT performing "Your Majesty" so I know a recording of
the first Paris gig exists...dunno abooot the others.

A friend of mine is buying a webserver and needs some people to host on
it, his rates are pretty cheap (I'm getting my hosting for $5 a month)
but you have to talk to him because right now all he does is build
custom packages, so if your interested contact me (admdave@qis.net) and
tell me what you need in the way of space/bandwidth/features and we'll
set up a nice price for you. Please also include general content of the
    site, if possible.

Keep in mind, he cannot host 'illegal' stuff.

Thanks for putting up with this horrible off topic and blatant plug

Though it's just a memory, some memories last forever.

They played the "Woe to you..." sample as the intro to the NOTB set,
instead of before the actual song Number Of The Beast. So, when we
heard that sample as the lights went down after the interval, we knew
*exactly* what we were getting. :-)

The sample at the start of The Prisoner was played at its correct place.

Y'know, after listening to IN ABSENTIA I was wondering the same thing, since it really -is- much heavier than their previous material. Steve W. has had some (positive, IMHO) influence on Opeth, so if the reverse is also true, then I'd say it's a great deal all 'round. :)

IN ABSENTIA will be in my Top 10 this year, I think. ULTIMA RATIO will be Top 5, and probably also DELIVERANCE (the forthcoming Opeth CD). It's been a great year for releases, though.

    Wow, cool!

Umm, can you send me an absentee form so I can buy it...in absentia? :)

Oddly enough, this has a bearing on the "jam-bands" discussion/flamewar. :)

I know there are some fans of Ozrics out there in Ytse-land besides me (Adam Pye, Mike Shetzer, etc.) :)

For some unclear reason, Ozrics are included in a "who should play the Bonnaroo Festival next year?" poll at http://www.bonnaroovians.com. This is a bit weird, since they're not really a "jam-band" in the usual sense, although they -do- appeal to some jam-band fans as part of their overall listenership. Still, they're listed as a possible band to play Bonnaroo and it would be a great chance for them to get some much-needed exposure over here, since the festival draws a big crowd. --And ties up lots of traffic. :)

I'd normally say it was a long-shot, but they -are- running in second or third place even as I type this. If you'd like to help them out, go to http://www.bonnaroovians.com and look for the poll (right side of the frame). They're close to the bottom of the list, so you'll have to scroll down to find them. You can't vote twice (easily, anyway :)), since the poll uses IP addresses and presumably cookies to prevent it. Vote early and spread the word!

For those of you who have NO idea what this Ozric Tentacles thing is, check out http://www.ozrics.com. They're an instrumental, space/synth/world/rock/reggae band from England whose sound is refreshingly unique. They've been around since 1982 (!) My pics-and-writeups page for their 2000 tour is at http://home.attbi.com/~pellaz/ozrics00.html, and my overall "top" page for 'em is http://ozrics.paulcashman.com.

They have a new double-live CD that came out around a month ago called LIVE AT THE PONGMASTERS BALL which will likely make it into my Top 5 of the year. Only some slight mixing problems during one song are keeping it from being #1. :)

New live DVD is coming soon, also! :)
