In case you haven't yet received your newest fanzine and don't want it
    spoiled, press DELETE now. Thanks.

So, the newest fanzine arrived in the mail yesterday, two days after
Festivus, and much to my surprise, it came with a fanclub CD. The fanzine
itself is actually a lovely 2004 calendar instead of a load of interviews
and whatnot. It's really nice! The CD is their entire performace at the
Graspop metal festival on July 6, 2002. The liner notes include the
    following info:

"The 2002 Graspop Metal Meeting took lace in Dessel (Belgium) on July 6th
with Slayer, Dream Theater, Machine Head, Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford,
and Biohazard on the main stage.

With such metal bands on the bill, Dream Theater had to prove they were
not only a progressive band but definitely a metal band too, something the
general audience at the festival were maybe not aware of.

As a consequence, Dream Theater played their heaviest set-list of all
time, up to that point. They really kicked ass and the audience probably
weren't expecting such a blast between bands like Machine Head and Slayer.

When Dream Theater eventually played a good part of 'Master Of Puppets' in
the middle of 'Pull Me Under', the crowd went totally crazy. What a hell
of a show! It's now here in its entirety for you, the fans, to re-live,
what waws probably one of the highlights of the entire 2002 World
    Tourbulence Tour.

    Enjoy!

The Dream Theater International Fan Clubs

This CD was limited to 7330 copies,
available exclusively through the official Dream Theater Fan Clubs."

My intro was back in 1992, a mutual friend of my wife and me was into Yes as
I was and she (Jen Albert) recommended Dream Theater. She said that they
had a new CD coming out in a few weeks and had another one that was already
out of print. So I picked up Images and Words that Tuesday that it came
out. I can still remember running into the living room when Pull Me Under
ended suddenly thinking my damn CD player was fucking up AGAIN! Too funny
really. It took me a few listens before I had it down.

And yeah I do miss those days! ToT is still hitting on 4 of 7 cylinders for
me but on the plus side, I can get through it without getting pissed off.
Still, it's a shame when I listen back to the older stuff and realize what
they can do if they take the time. LOL! Horrible pun.
