>Any thoughts on DT'S Performance at the PNC bank art center on

Yeah, that show kicked ass. I, for one, am glad they didn't play the
instrumedley. I've never cared for it. I'm glad I got to hear Scarred and
Another Day.
I'd never seen QR before, but I'm glad I did. I have some minor complaints
about the PA sound during the evening - overall, it was quite good, but it
did progressively louder and slightly more distorted as the evening went on,
but man, they hit the sweet spot on Take Hold of the Flame. It sounded so
huge and clear.
I've heard a couple people mention NM516. I'm not familiar with that one -
did they play it on Thursday? Is that the one from Last Action Hero?
DT was great, as usual. The guys seemed to be more relaxed than usual, which
is nice to see. I enjoy seeing a band enjoying itself. The guys in DT can be
a little wooden at times. The set list was good - some old, some new.
Obviously, w/ 3 bands including a co-headliner, they couldn't do their usual
3hr set, but their hour and a half was quite good.
And the encore...
oh the encore...
Both bands playing Peruvian Skies - cool
Both bands playing a QR song I didn't recognize - cool
Both bands playing The Who's "Don't Get Fooled Again" - OMG!!! That's it
right there. That's why God gave us music. Having seen that, I can die a
happy man. :-)

For those of you who were there - did you notice the video stuff going on?
QR had some pretty decent pre-programmed video, but whoever was running
around in the pit w/ the video camera was doing a REALLY good job. There
were several shots where he to be in just the right spot at just the right
angle. There was one of the new QR guitarist viewed through Geoff Tate's
legs. There was another of the other QR guitarist's sillouhette (sp?) framed
by certain elements of the stage background. Another of Tate & LaBrie
together framed by some of the stage lighting.
The real-time editing and stage lighting were good, too, especially during
the drum solo.

it has no ringtone composer, go figure...

I noticed the EP followup to Arena's Contagion is out now, although I forget where :)
Anyone picked it up yet?
I thought Contagion was a decent release, not quite as good as The Visitor or Immortal, but good nonetheless. Let's hope the following two EP's will help boost my opinion of it!

Well, Green Carnation has done it again people. Their
new album A Blessing in Disguise is smoking!!!!! Damn
it's good. I thought they weren't going to be able to
keep up the work they did in LoD, DoD, but they
somehow managed to do it. This album has everything:
beautiful melodies, heavy parts, soft parts, great
lyrics (at least the few I've read), interesting
songs, dynamics, variety, etc. If you thought their
previous album was a bit repetitive, you won't be able
to complain about that this time. The music is so
damn beautiful, semi-depressing and dark. You all
need to get this album. Very highly recommended.
This will definitely be one of my favorite releases
this year.
