It was announced today, that Trey Gunn, the amazing Warr Guitarist,

1) I&W
2) Awake
3) WDADU
4 or 5) SFAM
5 or 5) TOT
6) FII
7) ACoS
8) 6DOIT
i haven't made this list since....probably when SFAM
was released....I know i used to like WDADU better
than Awake, and maybe sfam over awake, too, but I've
changed my mind on the Awake album some oever the past
few months....
6DOIT as my least favorite DT album, huh? Kind of
surprised at that result, but trhiking it over, it
makes sense....that second disc....er....yeah.
Can't decide where exactly Train of Thought should fit
in....and can't listen to it try and resolve it....I
went to the Type O/Cradle of Filth show i asked about
last week....type o was blah, the cradle part was an
awesome experience, my first ever REAL metal show, and
I kinda got into it.
but anyway, during the course of the night, my Train
got stolen, so I can't listen to it to figure out
where exactly it lies in my pantheon of DT discs. I'll
be visiting best buy before too long....

Been listening to TOT quite a bit this weekend, and it is still growing...
from good to real good!
"Endless Sacrifice" is a really good song, love Jordan's "guitar" solo
(first one). The lyrics surely deal with Petrucci's frustration over
touring and thus being away from his wife?
"In the name of God" is just getting better, really like the way it jumps
between the heavy riff and the opened up solo section - again, a classic DT
track! And the Battle Hymn in the very end is just brilliant! Not to
mention that the last note is played by Jordan's nose! :)
"SoC" is a true classic, can't get enough of this one. It is... perfect.
Cheers,
Oddvar

don't suppose you're referring to the snare "strainer", which is the
wire-type band that's stretched across the bottom head of the snare drum??

I even heard rumours of a reunion a few years back with Wetton and Jobson heading it up. Bruford said he hadn't heard anything about it at the time. I believe it was blamed on a scheduling conflict so it never happened. Not sure what the lineup would have been, but I'm sure it would've been great either way.
