No, it's 5 hrs away and I have school that day and the next. :-(

Somebody had better bootleg it, though. Although I seem to recall
seeing/hearing/reading that Portnoy was gonna release a recording of it. I
think he said it at the clinic I went to this summer.

    hmm...

Yeah, he also said he wanted to release the Yellow Matter Custard show, but
was afraid Michael Jackson wouldn't let him. :-)

Well, see, i'd rather a raw fan released version than a
    takes-forever-to-get-released version that costs 20+ bucks :)
On that note, I'm checkin out the Alex Skolnick Trio tomorrow all of a
sudden! Gonna attempt to bootleg it myself if I'm lucky...

I agree! I guess it depends on on where you are in the midwest, but
for me it's a great place to see a lot of shows. I live in Detroit and am
within reasonable driving distance for shows to Cleveland, Cincy, Columbus,
Chicago, Indianapolis, and Toronto. Not to mention the occasional stops in
Toledo that some bands make. Only the northeast might be a little better
off as they hit more cities that are closer together (but traffic is also a
    lot worse).

*grumble* No dates for the Southeast yet, I gather...or was that an
incomplete list? Pollstar has -nothing- on that tour yet. They're
asking a lot for their guarantee, so it might skip here (Atlanta).
    Grr.

I just saw Type O a few weeks ago with Lacuna Coil and both bands were
excellent. I'd like to see Type O again, and would -really- like to
see a decently long set from Cradle of Filth. 30 minutes in the heat at
Ozzfest wasn't nearly long enough...and they were very cool to talk to
    after the show, too.

Whee, November 18th here: Dimmu Borgir, with Children of Bodom (!)
along with Nevermore and Hypocrisy. THAT should be fun, it's CoB's
first-ever US tour, and the new Dimmu video (for "Progenies of the Great
    Apocalypse") is great!

I'm going to the G3 in Atlanta. I was able to go early and get autographs and pics in 2001, but I don't know if thats gonna happen this year. It depends if I get that day off of work.

It was an incomplete list, but there aren't any southern Type O dates on the full one either, unfortunately.

Speaking of concerts where the venue had to have taken a bath (not that we were, exactly): Samael, Cathedral & Strapping Young Lad at the Trocadero the other night. There couldn't have been more than 100 people in attendance, all told. Granted, it was a Tuesday night, but sheesh. Reminded me of Powermad...
