    was playing it!!!

oh yeah, & one more thing......... it's Peart, not Pearte.

    i'm a drummer, couldn't let that one go..... ;)

    Hello, there!

Chris, is there any possibility of converting your original recording to a lossless format such as SHN or FLAC?

    Thanks in advance, Gabriel

Yes, exactly like that. If Mike feels that he puts people in danger when throwing the drum paraphenalia then he can choose to stop it. Personally, I would argue that Mike is in no way responsible for a person leaning beyond his reach. But, it's Mike's call. However, the problem that I believe jacko was alluding to is that people are now afraid to take normal actions (e.g. throwing a drumstick to fans) because they might get sued by someone who leans beyond his reach and gets hurt. If people would take more responsibility for their own actions then we wouldn't have lawsuits which end up stifling people's normal actions.

    Steve

P.S. I haven't heard anything about that guy trying to sue DT so it appears he did take responsibility for leaning out too far. Good for him.

Ok, after some grumbling, I relented and have posted a final version of the Massey Hall Toronto 03/25/04 show in .mp3 format, with id3 info. The files are encoded from the original uncompressed versions, at 192K, so the quality should be sufficient for CDRs. It will be up for download for a couple weeks. After that, it will be part of my Kazaa-lite shared folder.

I love you Chris!!! I finally get a chance to listen to a show from this tour!!! I still haven't finished listening to the whole show, but so far so good. My speakers here at work aren't the best, but I can still say that the quality of the recording seems to be quite good. It shows that the place had really good acoustics, since you can hear all of the instruments clearly (OK, maybe the bass can't be heard much, but aren't we used to that?). The performance by the band so far is great!!! At first I had no idea of how to play .ogg files, but I found an .ogg player (dandans ogg player) that's free (or shareware) and works very well. Once again, thanks a lot Chris.

Actually the bass is quite good in the mix. Sounded great on my home PC speakers :)) Gave me something fun to listen to while putting together a new computer desk on Sunday.

The new Winamp 5.02 plays .ogg files just fine without any modifications. I had old Winamp 2.6, and installed the full version of 5.02 and was able to double-click the .ogg files and play 'em just fine. :) Plus the new version has some killer features. Free.

Thanks for the boot Chris. I downloaded a plugin for ogg for winamp. I have winamp 2.8, but I get nothing trying to play the files... any ideas?
